Mooney Acclaim Type S Specs
From CA to NC. Acclaim vs Airliner. Find out who wins
F.A.Q.
Q. What kind of speeds and fuel burns will I actually see in the Mooney Acclaim.
A. At 25,000 feet and on a perfect day you will see
242 knots at approx.
21 GPH, LOP at 25,000 you will see
236 knots at approx.
18 GPH. At 18,000 you will see
228 knots at 21 GPH or LOP you will see
222 knots at 18 GPH. At 12,000 you will see approx.
214 knots at 21 GHP or LOP
210 knots at 18 GPH. Oh yea, at 6,000 feet, the Mooney does 201 knots!
Compare these speeds to any of Mooney's competitors and Mooney leaves them on the ground and the Mooney Acclaim does it on 30 less horsepower!
Q. Isn't the Cessna 400 or Turbo Cirrus nearly as fast as the Mooney Acclaim?
A. Not even close. Both the Turbo Cirrus and Cessna 400 are designed to run LOP. The Mooney engine can run ROP or LOP. Cessna claims their airplane can top out at 235 knots. In order to archive this speed the Cessna would have to run ROP and in order to keep the CHTs at a reasonable temperature you would be burning approximately 28 GPH. This is very unrealistic.
Q. Is there more information that you can send me?
