F.A.Q.
Q. I have heard Mooneys are small airplanes inside?
A. The Mooney cabin is wider than a Bonanza. The front seats have three way adjustments. Even taller individuals over 6'5" can easily fly without hitting their heads. You can even move the seat in the most rearward position and stretch your legs completely out and not touch the rudder pedals. The current production Mooneys are called "long body" Mooneys. They are significantly larger than prior models.
Q. Why should I consider purchasing a Mooney?
A. The Mooney Acclaim and Ovation are built for speed. Flying a Mooney is the equivalent of driving an Aston-Martin. It is pure adrenaline and total comfort. Each Mooney is hand made. The materials and workmanship are pristine. I have noticed that I am less fatigued flying the Mooney on a cross country than almost any other airplane. It is extremely smooth, quiet
and the Mooney offers the most comfortable seats compared to its competition. If you are considering moving into a VLJ or Turboprop, having retractable gear experience will help with insurance. Mooney also offers up to 6 years or 2,000 hours of warranty. I invite you to experience the Mooney.
Q. Are Mooneys expensive to insure?
A. No. The Mooney has a great safety record and in many cases, the Mooney is less expensive to insure than its competitors. If you are a student pilot, then expect to pay a higher rate until you have more time and additional ratings.
Q. Did Mooney stop producing airplanes?
A. Due to the current economic conditions, Mooney has stopped production. Mooney is evaluting the economic situation to determine when to resume production and is seeking investors. Various staff including warranty and factory support are still working at the factory providing support for the fleet.
