Diamond DA40 XLS

The DA40 XLS is the best first airplane that you can own.  There are over 1,000 DA40s flying and many of them are used in large flight schools and universities including the US Air Force.  Its combination of safety, low cost of ownership, and "fun to fly" make it the ideal trainer or cross country airplane.

F.A.Q.
Q. Does the Diamond DA40 XLS actually cruise at 150 knots at 10 GPH?

A. Yes.  Please see the following
picture.  You will usually see this speed and fuel flow between 6 and 8 thousand feet. At higher altitudes you will see a slightly lower cruise speed but increased NMPG.  In fact, during long cross country flights I will fly at 11 or 12 thousand feet and cruise at 143 knots at 8.5 GPH.

Q. Why should I choose Diamond  DA40 XLS vs another airplane?

A. Each airplane has its own strengths.  The Diamond DA40 XLS has the best safety record of any of its competitors.  It also uses a 4-cyl Lycoming engine to cruise at 150 knots while the competition uses either a higher horsepower (more fuel) 6 cyl Lycoming or Continental engine to produce equivalent speeds.  The visibility is by far the best in the Diamond than any other airplane.  Want more info?  Sign up for the 30 page in depth report.

Q. Tell me about the safety record of the Diamond DA40?

A. Diamond absolutely has the best safety record in general aviation.  The proof: visit http://www.ntsb.gov/ and compare the Diamond against any other manufacturer.  Aviation Consumer also did a study of the Diamond DA40 accident history in their February 2008 issue, DA40 accident scan. and another study in December 2011 accident report.

Q. I am a student pilot, can I get insurance in a new DA40 and how much will it cost.

A. The DA40 is probably the most cost friendly airplane to insure for a student pilot.  Today's rates should be under $3,000 per year for a new DA40 XLS. I invite you to get a quote on the DA40 XLS and another airplane of similar hull value.  Premier Aircraft Sales and I work with some of the best insurance companies available.
Contact Ryan for more information.

Q
. How does the resale value of the Diamond DA40 compare to its competitors?

A. Please see the December 2008 article from Aviation Consumer.  Diamond has traditionally had a significantly higher resale value compared to nearly every other general aviation manufacturer.

Q. How does the DA40 rank in terms of number of Airworthiness Directives?

A. Click to compare the total number of ADs: DA40 XLS, Cessna 182T, SR-20

Q. Tell me about the optional Air Conditioning?  What other options are available for the DA40?
